Crop Stressor Info
Hormone Balance in Plants
Every plant cell in every plant has five key hormones. These critical elements regulate plant growth. In order for plants to reach their maximum potential these hormones must be optimally balanced through out the plant’s lifecycle.
Whenever a plant experiences stress the optimal hormone balance is disturbed. This results in weaker plants with lower yield potential.
Stressors come in various forms
Weather. Mother Nature can wreak havoc with extreme temperatures, late frosts, dry and drought-like conditions, or excessive moisture and flood-like conditions. In each scenario a plant’s growth potential is hampered and yield potential declines.
Pests. Insects and worms are detrimental to plant growth impacting the root mass and productivity of the plants.
Herbicide Damage. Herbicides that drift from neighboring applications, or residue from previous planting, damage crops causing weaker plants and lower yields.
High Density Crops – High plant populations cause stress as each plant competes for moisture, sunlight, and nutrition. If not properly managed crop yield will drop.
